Special Deputy Receiver (SDR)
A SDR’s particular duties in a receivership will depend on the situation, including the nature of the proceeding and the entity placed in receivership. These duties include:
Securing control of the company’s operations property and records; Evaluating, managing, collecting, and liquidating assets; Evaluating the company’s workforce to ensure proper staffing; Supervising litigation filed by and against the receivership estate; Operating information systems and extracting data; Investigating the liability of any parties to the company; Management of claims adjudication; Providing notice to policyholders, claimants and interested parties; Coordinating with the state insurance guaranty associations; Creating and filing financial reports.
