Special Deputy Receiver (SDR)

A SDR’s particular duties in a receivership will depend on the situation, including the nature of the proceeding and the entity placed in receivership. These duties include: Securing control of the company’s operations property and records​; Evaluating, managing, collecting, and liquidating assets​; Evaluating the company’s workforce to ensure proper staffing​; Supervising litigation filed by and against the receivership estate​; Operating information systems and extracting data​; Investigating the liability of any parties to the company​; Management of claims adjudication; Providing notice to policyholders, claimants and interested parties​; Coordinating with the state insurance guaranty associations​; Creating and filing financial reports.
